According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, the two, simplest definitions of testimony are “proof or evidence that something exists or is true” and “a formal written or spoken statement, especially one given in a court of law.”

In this sense, testimonies can be used in apologetics and prove God exists when others try to disprove His existence. This idea is supported by 1 Peter 3:15, which says ” but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.” There are different ways to defend our faith, but testimonies are one of these forms
